50 Years of Training Kansas City's Plumbers
For over a half a century Plumbers Local 8 Training Center has been providing the education of plumbers in the Kansas City Metro area. It's no secret that our graduate journeypersons have the skills needed to stand strong as the first line of defense for protecting health within the communities we build and live in. Plumbers of Local 8 are "the real deal-the original", always the first to establish the level of quality needed in the industry, always first to seek licensing and always first in continuing certifications as a journeypersons.
Local 8's Training Center partners with contractors to focus on quality through knowledge of technical requirements and advancements of our plumbing industry today. The culminations of this partnership and industry demands have established a 5 year apprenticeship curriculum that combines classroom instruction with on the job training.
Apprentices need to become proficient in common methods and practice of the industry, applied science and math, insuring the quality performance necessary for protecting health, as well as, maintaining licensing and continuing certifications to build, install and service plumbing as journeypersons.
The only Plumbing education available in the Kansas City metro area that fosters the union belief, "A full day's work for a full days pay!" Our apprentices through our partner Contractors enjoy free education and are paid commensurate with their level of experience on the job, including benefits.
